2019 – FtLion Year in Review

What a start to 2019 it was for us after learning that we had retained our award as Halal Food Blog of the Year at the Official Halal Awards; so a big thank you to all our readers for your continued support.

This year has also been the first time that our website has received over a million pageviews, with an average bounce rate of just 0.64%! And our Youtube channel appears to have really taken off too having received almost 300K views.

As this year draws to a close, UK’s Halal culinary scene appears to us to be as vibrant as it’s ever been, despite the general trend of restaurants seemingly opening and closing within moments of each other. In any case, here’s to optimism as we enter a decade and a prosporous 2020!

#FtLion attracted a total of 1,045,077 pageviews this year!
With an measly bounce rate of just 0.64%!
And 325,546 users!

49.5k likes guys! What can we say other than a huge thank you to each and everyone of you!

  1. With Slam Burger in London having been our most popular post this year, it just proves what we all knew and longed for: A Halal McDonald’s!
  2. Thanks so much again for your support after we retained our Halal Food Blog of the Year award. Really meant a lot to us!
  3. The Knot Churros proves that if you put together great decor with fancy props (and of course good food), it goes a long way.
  4. P. F. Chang’s Meal for 2 (£80) Ramadan competition went nuts this year. That prawn cocktail image really did the trick didn’t it?
  5. Our interview with 2014 Masterchef winner Ping Coombes and coverage of Ping Pan Asian proved extremely popular, with her post appearing twice in the top 9.
  6. You Brummie lot must really enjoy your Karak chai at Chaiiwala on Coventry Road…
  7. And you Luton lot definitely enjoy your Tiagos Flame!
  8. A great way to remember one of the best Halal gourmet restaurants to hit the scene before sadly coming to a premature end – Brioche Burger (still our favourite burger joint)!
