The Hulk inspires Tottenham’s Bruce Burgers

By Mohi Uddin Ahmed

Since I was going to be in the Tottenham area, I decided to visit Bruce Burgers near Wickes on account of a Facebook recommendation.

The restaurant has a unique menu that’s presented as a comic book with the Hulk character (Bruce Banner being his alter-ego) featuring heavily on most pages.

They have special offers on some days, and since it was ‘Wings Wednesday’ when I visited – where you get 3 wings free with any meal deal – I had the Bruce Beef burger which was supposed to be a little spicy, Jerk chicken wings and sweet potato fries.

The wings were delicious; but had they been a bit bigger, I’d have given them 10/10.

The sweet potato fries I thought were perfect – crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. They couldn’t have cooked them any better.

I really don’t enjoy those huge burgers that need an instruction manual on how to eat them. The size of the Bruce Beef, however, was perfect.

While I liked the taste of the burger, I forgot to ask for it to be cooked medium and so got it well done instead, which, therefore, turned out dry.

The only other negative was that the bun and burger weren’t as hot as I would have liked. Now this may have been because I took my time getting through the wings before moving onto the freshly cooked burger, which took a good 15 mins to arrive. Or it could have simply been because it was a cold night anyway. Whatever the case, the burger still tasted very good.

Overall 8/10. With a J20 drink included, the meal cost £11.50 and was good value for money.

I would definitely recommend the place and would personally visit again.
