The Lebanese restaurant brand Comptoir Libanais will be launching in London Bridge Station today making this their 22nd branch.

To celebrate, the 100-cover eatery is running a promotional campaign where it will be distributing 100 branded fez hats around the London Bridge area this opening week.

To be in with the chance of winning a mezze platter and mocktails for two, all you have to do is take a selfie with the fez hat and tag their social media post using the hashtag #ComptoirLondonBridge.

Founder Tony Kitous said: “We are so excited to be opening Comptoir Libanais in this iconic space. We can’t wait to share the love of Lebanese food and culture to the locals of London Bridge; the local residents, commuters and workers in the area. It is a perfect location for us to make Lebanese food available to many people.”

While the place is decked out like a souk, its menu is made of recipes which Middle Eastern and Lebanese mothers use at home including Tony’s.

Comptoir is a place that serves food all day from breakfast until dinner, with the former including dishes like the classic Shakshuka, a dish made up of slow cooked tomatoes and topped with a fried egg and served with pita, as well as a Man’ousha, or full Lebanese breakfast.

We can’t wait to share the love of Lebanese food and culture to the locals of London Bridge; the local residents, commuters and workers in the area.

The all-day menu includes a variety of dishes from a large selection of hot and cold mezze, popular warm Lebanese wraps (served with a Comptoir salad and pickles), and the Marinated Grills and Tagines.

For something sweet, there’s a selection of Baklawa and Lebanese desserts, which include Dark Chocolate Orange and Cardamom Tart, as well as refreshing homemade lemonades such as Romana – orange blossom water and pomegranate lemonade, and Rosa – rose, lemon and lime lemonade.

Founded in 2008, Comptoir Libanais – meaning ‘Lebanese counter’ – has restaurants across Britain, including Manchester, Bath, Leeds, Reading, Birmingham, Oxford and Exeter.

The aim is to open two to three new sites each year, and Kitous has already had requests to bring the brand to places like Newcastle, Liverpool and Brighton, as well as Paris and Switzerland.
