QUILON

We were really impressed by Quilon’s large non-alcoholic drinks bar which offered up this exquisite Coast Guard – a mocktail that was described at the time as “unlike anything we’ve ever had before!”
This was essentially an ice slushy which, though comprising of only two elements, namely watermelon and coconut, had us fooled into thinking there was rose water therein given its mellow sweetness. With a lovely frothy top, this light and fragrant beverage is still remembered with fondness.
INTERCONTINENTAL LONDON PARK LANE

The famous Intercontinental London Park Lane pulled out one Botanical Mocktail during Ramadan which didn’t just look the part, but also delivered by way of some incredible flavours.
The hugely impressive Nuts About You had layers of complexity that ultimately defined this unbelievably well crafted drink, with the subtle interplay of sweet and citrus tones guaranteeing that this aromatic concoction be shortlisted.
FATT PUNDIT

Newcomers Fatt Pundit in London’s Soho pulled out not one but two drinks which included The Guava Chilli Sour. This had the sweetness of the guava wonderfully neutralised by the heat of the salty-cum-chilli rim.
They then presented a Cucumber Cooler that was seriously refreshing, with the combination of the mint and cucumber beautifully offset by the clever use of chaat masala. One of the best cucumber coolers we’ve had.
CHAIIWALA

Practically everyone seems to think Chaiiwala‘s chaii are outstandingly good. And so, after visiting their Birmingham branch on Coventry Road in February, we decided to nominate the above blend of black tea, milk, sugar and spices, and all boiled and boiled on a low heat to develop such depth of flavour that this Karak Chaii has to be included for our awards. Superb!
