Indian Tiffin Room Leeds Curry Dosa Thali

Indian Tiffin Room launches in Leeds later this evening

HALAL STATUS • Fully Halal food menu • Alcohol served

Indian Tiffin Room (ITR) will be introducing Leed’s to “authentic Indian street food” later this evening as they open the doors to their new venue at 5pm.

Located on Park Row with the entrance on Greek Street, this 120-seater restaurant is their third branch with the other two located in Cheshire’s Cheadle and Manchester’s First Street.

While alcohol is served, ITR offer a fully Halal food menu that’s an amalgamation of various regional dishes popular across parts of India, such as the ‘Dosa’ (rice pancakes), ‘Thali’ (mini buffet on a plate), an array of Chaats, Kebabs, Indo-Chinese food and much more.

Specialising as they do in tiffins, more specifically South Indian Tiffin dishes, which they describe as the “cornerstone” of their menu, you’ll find a variety of Dosas filled with an assortment of spicy ingredients.

You can choose from either a Plain or Masala Dosa, or go for the more challenging types that include the signature ITR Mysore Masala Dosa, thin rice and lentil crepe with ITR chutney and potato masala filling; or the Madurai Masala Dosa, thin rice and lentil crepe with spicy red chilli chutney and potato masala filling.

Otherwise, there’s an assortment of intriguing Tiffin Curries that come with either plain rice or plain Indian bread.

These include the Dal Makhani, a lentil-based dish cooked in a rich creamy sauce; the choice of either an ITR chicken or lamb curry; or you can opt for a seafood-based one such as the Jumbo Prawn Masala or the gentle Kerala Fish Curry.

There’s plenty of both “warm” and “cool” veggie options too, with the former made up of things like the Beetroot Shami Kebab or Punjabi-style Home Made Samosa, and the latter the classic Paani Puri or Samosa Chaat.

There are then the so-called ‘Indian Highway Mains’: Dhaba Style Chicken, Lamb Nalli Nihari, and the Manglorean Tawa Minu (Fish), which are inspired by Highway Dhabas (roadside eatery joints) and served with a naan or roti.

For dessert you can’t go wrong with Indian staples like Gulab Jamun, Carrot Halwa, Rasmalai, and Kulfi.

NOTE: LTR Leed’s does not serve thalis during weekends and bank holidays.
