Indique’s Indian cuisine in Didsbury pleases Shahad

Not every Indian night is worth talking about right? But if this is your type of dine, then keep reading.

Started off with popadoms and pani puri for starters which were great as a light start up.

For mains we thought we’d opt for a mix of two dishes, Chicken Shahi Korma and Chicken Biryani.

The Chicken Shahi Korma, which was ordered with Pilau rice, is a very mild spiced chicken curry, cooked in coconut cream and butter (this was chosen as a non-spicy option).

Not the best korma we’ve had. It had an overly sweet taste with maybe not as much flavour in comparison to others, but it is what it is described as, I guess.

Now onto the Biryani. My fav for sure. Being the chicken lover I am, I opted for chicken and wasn’t disappointed.

A spicy aromatic blend of silky basmati rice, chicken and vegetables. Cooked to perfection and a great balance of everything. This is coming from someone who has probably never ordered biryani out. It’s one of those neither here nor there dishes for me.

It was more on the spicy side than mild, but the raita (yogurt-like mix) served with it honestly completed it, delivering a cooling factor and some sweetness? Love!

Need I say more? A thumbs up, that’s for sure!

Not done just yet; can’t go for an Indian and and forget the garlic naan now. Soft but somewhat crispy, this was fresh and not overly covered in garlic butter. Just how it should be.

I’ll definitely be going back to try more, as well as a different curry with different company who can handle a little more spice. Any takers?
