Masterchef Ping Coombes launches Pan-Asian in SelfridgesAdvertisement Advertisement HALAL STATUS Fully Halal
Masterchef 2014 champion Ping Coombes continues her winning ways by introducing her latest venture at two locations simultaneously this week.
As a first brand under the Selfridges group, Ping Pan-Asian launched at the iconic flagship store in London yesterday as a restaurant on the 4th floor of The Selfridges Kitchen and as a delicatessen on the ground floor of the food hall for takeaways.
At the same time, it has opened a deli counter in the upper floor of Selfridges Manchester at the Trafford Centre for takeaways.
Ping Pan Asian will be aiming to reflect the balance and harmony of the different cultures in south-east Asia, by “offering Ping’s favourite dishes, cooked fresh to order and made using the highest quality ingredients”.
Alongside Popcorn Tempura Prawns, Chicken Satay and Roti Canai with Nyonya Curry, there will be signature plates that include:
- NasiLemak – a Malay flavoured curry chicken, served with coconut rice, peanuts and deep fried anchovies.
- Hainanese Chicken Rice – considered one of Singapore’s national dishes, adapted from early Chinese immigrants in the Hainan province in Southern China.
- Dim Sum – steamed fresh to order.
- Seafood Laksa – Ping’s favourite alongside with the chicken version.
In addition, guests will be able to drop by to takeaway delights such as duck spring rolls, freshly made chicken satay and Dim Sum including prawn and chive dumplings, beef siumai and king prawn spring rolls.
Stunning the judges with food inspired by her Malaysian heritage where she was originally born and raised, Ping has become a Malaysia Kitchen Ambassador, promoting Malaysian food around the UK and abroad.
