Phat Buns Leicester Smashed BurgersLocated near the DMU (De Montfort University), a new buger joint Phat Buns has now opened.

It’s definitely a great spot for students to go to for a delicious bite. Before I begin with my review, I’d like to thank Phat Buns for the invite.

Let me start by saying, the joint looks simple yet very cool and urban to draw in the youth, like myself.

The seats are very comfortable so for sure you will get a comfortable experience.

The menu is limited, but the choice of food seemed on point. Once I had a good glance of the menu, I decided to place my order. There’s 3-steps to take in placing your order: STEP ONE – Brioche Bun, STEP TWO – Phat Chick Patty, STEP THREE – Extras – Egg (£1.00 Extra).

The Phat Chick Burger tasted delicious; it was fried and it came out nice and crispy, with very little oil (as the excess oil was taken off by patting down the patty).

The added egg, which I love in burgers, was spot on and exactly how I like it. With iceburg lettace and inhouse made sauce, it came with a lightly toasted Brioche Bun.

I was also offered to try their 100% Phat Angus 4oz patty x2, but this time in a Seeded Bun. With a nicely melted cheese slice in between the patties, this Burger was so enjoyable to eat. It was juicy all the way through and just delicious – Definitely a wowzer!

All meals come with Potato Tots (which can be replaced with Fries for 50p). I tried both Potato Tots and Fries.

To down it all, I went for a large Frozen Mix, which included all four flavours: Coke, Fanta Blueberries (Blue Mist), Fanta Strawberry and Fanta Orange. What freezing ice drink – I had to sip it slowly as I was experiencing brain freeze in the process.

Wicked experience overall with friendly owners and staff. Please note: both card and cash payments accepted.

Vegan options available including vegan mayonnaise, with four Phat Buns to choose from: Seeded, Brioche, Pretzel and Vegan (see below).
