The Vurger Co opens first permanent site tomorrowHALAL STATUS Fully Halal food menu
Popular plant-based burger company, The Vurger Co, will launch its first permanent site tomorrow in east London.
Opening at 11am, the 25-cover restaurant in Shoreditch will be serving food which, while qualifying as Halal, does serve alcohol on site.
And this project has only come to fruition thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign.
Not only was 166 percent of the target figure raised within just 72 hours, but it was also Crowdcube’s fastest ever campaign for a restaurant.
All burgers by The Vurger Co are made from 100% vegetables, seeds, nuts, grains and legumes.
Some of the more well known burgers includes the Tabasco Auburger, made from aubergines, chickpeas, red onion and vegan cheese.
Others are the Classic, Holy Habanero, the Mexican and the MLT, made from baked mushrooms and rocket and topped with walnut and sundried tomato paste.
The company even goes so far as to make certain that all packaging, including straws, is compostable.
