Yamo Mediterranean Grill opens in Shepherd’s BushHALAL STATUS Fully Halal
Having opened in July, Yamo, which means ‘mother’ in Syrian, specialises in grills and mezze, and is located in west London’s Shepherd’s Bush
While offering a selection of hot and cold starters quintessential of the region including motabel, cacik, baba-ghanouj, falafel balls, grilled or fried kibbeh, the mains are varied and extensive.
Aside from the Daily stews, which includes a Dish of the Day, there’s your typical variety of grills comprising of shish kebabs, as well as wraps.
- Yogurtlu Adana – Lean tender minced lamb chargrilled, chopped on a bed of bread, topped with tomato sauce and yoghurt then drizzled wtth butter.
- Sarma Chicken Beyti – Specially prepared minced chicken and herbs on skewer chargrilled wrapped in lavas bread served with butter, tomato sauce and yoghurt.
- Yogurtlu Kuzu Shish – Lean tender cubes of lamb skewers grilled over charcoal, chopped on a bed of bread, topped with tomato sauce and yoghurt, then drizzled with butter.
Otherwise, there’s the choice of two heftier Yamo Specials – platters for two that cost £21 and £31 respectively – with the former coming with lamb shish, chicken shish, lamb ribs (4 pcs), lamb kofta, chicken kofta, chicken wings (8 pcs), and adana kebab, all served with rice, bulgur and salad.
With the most expensive single dish on the menu being just £12.50, Yamo is well priced for an eatery which is otherwise on a very competitive stretch of road.
