Health Drinks to adopt for National Obesity Week
January is a month of resolutions. Resolutions made in the hope of change. The change of bad habits to good ones.
This week, National Obesity Week kicks off an initiative led by the National Obesity Forum, an independent organisation of medical practitioners, to promote healthy living and encourage the UK to be that little bit healthier.
With 1 in 4 adults and 20% of children leaving primary school all considered obese, and with numbers expected to rise for the former to above 50% by 2050, the campaign for encouraging the UK to adopt a national New Year’s resolution and improve the nation’s health seems to be more important today than ever before.
To this end, we’ll be doing our bit to encourage you and your family make those small changes and help you on your way by bringing you a selection of healthy foods for five different food categories over the course of this week.
So let’s “Do something good for JanUary”, and incorporate some of these health drinks into our lifestyle:
- Obesity is a direct cause of sleep apnoea, depression, type 2 diabetes, stress, heart disease, arthritis, high blood pressure, infertility.
- 60% of men, 50% of women and 25% of children could be obese by 2050.
- 1 in 3 adults do 30 minutes of moderate physical activity a week.
- 1 in 4 adults now considered obese… along with a fifth of children.
- These rates have almost doubled in 20 years.
