‘Salt & Vinegar’ fish & chips anyone? Yes please!
By Thia Tapadar
HALAL STATUS Pork saveloy & non-Halal meat pies stored separately (“no risk of cross-contamination”)Salt & Vinegar? Yes please! A new sleek and stylish Halal fish and chip shop has opened in New Malden.
Salt & Vinegar is very reasonably priced and offers a great range of fishes from cod to scampi.
But worry not. If you aren’t a huge fish lover, they also do pies and sausages which are all Halal apart from the savaloy (ready cooked and kept in a seperate heater from everything else, with 100% zero cross-contamination).
The dessert menu is also worth trying for those with a sweet tooth. The portions are huge with amazing value for money, and the service and ambience great.
Good amount of seating area and very friendly staff.

Sorry this place is not halal. They sell pork savaloy and haraam pies. Also they wont warn you when you order.

The shop has confirmed with us that while premade pork saveloy and non-Halal meat pies are sold, these are stored entirely separately, with no risk of cross-contamination.
