The Best of London’s Halal Chicken Eateries
To mark National Poultry Day today, Feed the Lion has proudly partnered with one of the country’s most successful Halal food brands, Haloodies, who recently recently won the Spirit of Britain award at the British Muslim Awards 2017, to bring you a list of London’s most exciting Halal chicken eateries.
These restaurants and food vendors have plucked this humble bird from the depths of mediocrity and, through gastronomic innovation, raised the chicken to the top of the pecking order.
Chiquen is a large restaurant situated on the first floor of The Mall next to Cineworld in Wood Green who offer a variety of chicken dishes ranging from strips and wings, to grilled chicken pieces and burgers.
But what really makes this restraurant stand out from the poultry crowd are the unique variety of sauces their chefs have apparently travelled the world to source and present.
They offer a mild lemony taste Sicilian Mild Sauce, a delicately fruity Old Delhi Spicy, a strong Kansas BBQ, a thicker and extremely potent Mozambique Fiery, and an even more fiery Malaccan Volcanic Sauce.

It’s not often you find places that serve gluten free fried chicken, let alone Halal gluten free fried chicken, but that’s exactly what you’ll find with the street food vendor Uncle G’s Gourmet.
Based in Enfield, its owner, George Menicou aka Uncle G, offers buttermilk chicken made with 15 herbs and spices and is open fried to give that lovely crispy coating.
With all his products being non-GMO in nature and with everything “100% homemade with no artificial flavors and strictly NO MSG”, this is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
