Abd El Wahab makes European debut in Belgravia tomorrow

An established restaurant group that boasts 45 restaurants across the Middle East will have the grand opening of its first restaurant in the West tomorrow.
Abd El Wahab is a 110-cover Lebanese restaurant that will be debuting in London’s prestiguous district of Belgravia.
The brand, which is operated by Ghia Holdings who specialise in fine Lebanese cuisine served at casual venues, already has branches in Beirut, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt and Bahrain.
With a private dining room and a terrace, the two-storey site on Pont Street offers an a la carte and set Lebanese and Middle Eastern menus.
These include traditional hot and cold mezze starters such as the traditional Hummus, Moutabbal, Fattouch Salad, and Quinoa Tabbouleh, as well as Sojok spiced sausages sautéed with lemon juice, and Grilled Halloumi.
As for the mains, then FtL has been told that the dining venue’s most popular dish is its Mixed Grills among which is the restaurant’s signature ‘Mixed Grill Abd El Wahab’ that comprises a selection of grilled shrimps, lamb cutlets, meat and Taouk – a traditional marinated chicken shish kebab.
Aside from the oven roasted dishes, there’s also:
- Ras Asfour – sautéed veal filet with pomegranate, garlic and lemon
- Batata – friend potatoes with garlic, coriander and chilli
- Kebbeh – deep fried kebbeh ball stuffed with lamb mincemeat onions and pine nuts
- Grilled jumbo prawns, grilled sea bass and baked fish – with onion, garlic, green chilli, tomatoes and coriander
- Ouzzi – 10 hour low cooked leg of lamb, served with oriental rice and roasted nuts
As part of the group’s portfolio, Ghia Holdings already boasts a number of restaurant brands such as Ahwak, Med, Beirut by Grill, Fabrk and coffee shop Caribou.
Although Abd El Wahab does have mocktails available to complement its fully Halal food menu, it does have an alcohol bar.
And while a 15% discount is available to VIP members for the first month, the restaurant will be putting up discounts, competitions and more in the months thereafter.
