Karamay in Leicester UK’s first Halal Chinese hotpot restaurant

The people of Leicester will have the honour of being the first to savour the country’s first Halal rotary hotpot later today.
Karamay Hotpot will be having a soft launch at noon followed by the grand opening next week on the 14th.
Located on the busy stretch of London Road, this unique Chinese restaurant, which takes over from the Steak Ranch, will be taking bookings only until the 12th with customers asked to text the number below.
The people behind this venture are the same people behind the Western Chinese Cuisine restaurant, which is only a few doors down the same road.
With a fixed price per head that will cover all you can eat, Karamay Hotpot has a serving system where diners can take a seat in front of a conveyor belt and help themselves to the ingredients available to build up their bespoke hotpot.
Not only will there be a choice of hotpot broths, such as spicy and vegetarian versions, but everything will be entirely MSG free with completely fresh ingredients.
There will be a wide selection of foods, though sliced lamb and beef will only available to order from staff and not directly from the conveyor belt, so as to maintain freshness.
