#FtLionAwards 2018 – Best Curry House of the Year?
After the #FtLionAwards 2018 Best Veggie of the Year (sponsored by Chai Naasto and the newly opened Patri), we continue with the Best Curry House of the Year category.
After much debate and dialogue, we’ve shortlisted the following four nominees.

ANOKHA

Anokha is a well established, high end Indian restaurant in the heart of the insurance district in the City of London.
Having been rated an above average 4/5 ROARS, they presented dish after curry dish that was consistently good, with a few being outstandingly so.
And a word on the service too, which was exemplary, with well regimented staff who struck the perfect balance between proactivity and intrusiveness.
CHAPATI CLUB

Chapati Club in Action, west London, scored a solid 4/5 ROARS with us. Having opened around a year and half ago, this Indian restaurant, with a distinctly 70’s interior, definitely exceeded our expectations.
There’s nothing pretentious about this place; and yet, the dishes, by and large, were quite superb, with a kitchen fully cognizant of the use of Indian spices via-Ã -vis balance and harmony. We will add, however, that while all “dishes are medium spice level”, those used to their chilli may want to request cranking up the heat.
INDIQUE

Indique is an Indian restaurant in the heart of West Didsbury which offers a great Indian experience with a uniquely thought out dine that revolves around creativity and superb presentation.
It was obvious that a lot of thought had been put into all the dishes we had, with each one being served to its utmost potential.
The service was outstanding with friendly, attentive staff who appeared to be going beyond the call of duty in attending to the needs of the guests. This is the best Indian dine we’ve had in Manchester, and for this reason it too scored 4/5 ROARS.
THALI HO

Thali Ho in Surbiton is an award-winning restaurant which only last year snagged the Asian Curry Awards 2017 award for “Best Casual Dining Restaurant, London Suburbs”.
Having been rated 3.5/5 ROARS, their concept revolves around India’s thalis, or platters, which contains a selection of smaller plates comprising of a variety of dishes for one to enjoy.
Perhaps it’s this novel and convenient style introduced to Surbiton’s locals that’s made Thali Ho a popular destination in such a short period of time. Whatever the case, we enjoyed their food overall, though there were a few items that could have been executed far better, as well as the concept. After all, who doesn’t like to be served a platter consisting of an assortment of dishes, with multiple styles and flavours, to try and enjoy?
