Ottimmo Bao Bao Cafe serves Japanese in Uxbridge

When I first found this place on the map, it had a perfect 5 on Google Places/ Maps with over a 100 reviews.
This puts it in the desperate-to-visit category, especially as I’m a fan of Japanese food.
It’s worth noting that although these guys use the same oil for cooking, the owner can sort this out on request and within reason (give her a call and find; very reasonable).
Bao Bao buns have recently become more mainstream in the UK, with lots of pop-ups giving it a push, as a fast food alternative.
Here we find some good veggie options, with Squid, Mushroom, Crab Bao Bao bun burgers, along side salads and starters, as well as nice drinks and teas.
Since our first visit, it has become a regular family favourite as we are local.
Our tasty starters were made up of calamari and spring rolls, sides and luscious salad mains.
Of course, we also had dual portions of generous buns well stuffed with fried tempura style filling, salad and tangy sauce.
Highly recommended if you’re in Uxbridge and need a bite; but not an event in itself. And you might wanna note that they only accept cash!
I wouldn’t travel in from another town, unless you have some Japanese food fetish and crave anything and everything mildly related (you know who you are)!
