Celebrate Mother’s Day at London’s top restaurants
It’s almost 31st March – a day that has some of the country’s top restaurants prepare special set menus for none other than our mothers.
In Islam, the status of the mother in the family unit is second to none. Why not show her your love and appreciation this Mother’s Day by treating her this coming Saturday to a fantastic meal at one of the following swanky restaurants in London.
Chef Vivek Singh of Cinnamon Bazaar in Covent Garden has created a 6-dish sharing menu for £29pp (min 2 people):
- Indo-Chinese chicken wings, garlic and soy sauce
- Watermelon Chaat: Pressed watermelon, amaranth seeds, date chutney, masala cashew nut (v)(n)
- Pepper Fry: Curry leaf and cracked black pepper fried shrimp
- Lamb Roganjosh Shepherd’s Pie (voted Time Out – the 100 best dishes in London)
- Malabar boatman’s cobia fishcurry (gf)
- House black dal andnaan bread
- Nutmeg crème brûlée, carom seed shortbread
NOTE: Halal lamb and chicken that’s prepped and cooked separately. The dessert contains nutmeg. No alcohol used in any of their dishes, but available on the premises.

One of the first Indian restaurants in the world to be awarded a Michelin star, Tamarind of Mayfair is offering a 3-course Mother’s Day Lunch Menu (below) for £40 per person:
- Spiced bean sprouts with yoghurt, pomegranate, mint & tamarind chutney
- Devonshire crab & kingfish cake with ginger, mustard and lime leaves; berry chutney
- Corn-fed chicken supreme, tandoor-grilled with puréed peppers & cardamom
