Bismillah brings Afghani cuisine to London Greenford
HALAL STATUS Fully HalalIf you enjoy “authentic Afghani” cuisine then you might want to visit Bismillah Restaurant in west London’s Greenford Broadway.
Located on Greenford Road, the brightly lit 60-cover eatery appears to revolve around a red and white colour scheme that includes red and white roses and a red carpet.
And while their website might win the ‘Best Website of the 90s’ award, with a highlights video that’s utilised the special effects of an 80’s VHS wedding tape, the menu appears traditional enough.
With the restaurant promising to deliver “the ultimate Afghani dining experience”, there’s plenty of kebab options with their Bismillah Mix platter providing a good assortment of everything available.
They can also arrange, with 24hrs prior notice, the serving of Qaw, or a 13kg whole lamb, that comes with rice and salad for 249.99!
More traditional dishes include the following:
- Qabuli Palaw – Rice and carrots, raisins, almonds and lamb shank, served with salad.
- Mantu (10 Pieces) – Steamed pasta filled with minced lamb and onion dressed with yogurt, meat sauce and dry mint.
- Ashak (10 Pieces) – Steamed pasta filled with leek and herbs, dressed with yogurt, mint and garlic.
For dessert, you might want to try the equally traditional Afghani ice cream known as Sheer Yakh.
