Rendezvous at Harrow’s new Persian eatery Rendezvous
HALAL STATUS Fully Halal food menu • Alcohol servedIt might be an idea if you’re organising a meet-up in Chiswick, west London, to do so at the stylish new Persian restaurant Rendezvous.
With a fully Halal food menu, this 200-cover restaurant is beautifully decked out with enough space to probably find seating well away from the alcohol bar therein.
The owner has been quoted by a local website as saying that the restaurant will be serving “modern Persian food with a fusion element”.
And the menu looks like an extensive one too with all the traditional dishes one would expect of an Iranian eatery.
With all starters being served with freshly baked bread, expect an assortment of hot and cold mezzes that includes the Mast O Bademham – baked aubergine and onions with preserved yoghurt, fried mint and walnuts.
The mains are charcoal grilled and include the usual joojeh boneless breast of chicken, koobideh kebabs, shishlik lamb cutlets, as well as the Mahee monkfish dish.
Otherwise, watch out for their stews that come with rice, such as the lamb-based Ghormeh Sabzi and the exciting Fesenjoone Ordak – confit duck leg in pomegranate puree.
If you’re after a rice-based dish then look no further than the large serving of Zereshk Polow – Barberry rice with shavings of pistachio and chicken pieces.
