London’s increasing love of food halls continues as the iconic Borough Market in South East London launches its version today in Jubilee Place.

Located at the north end of the Market just off Winchester Walk, Borough Market Kitchen’s food court boasts over 20 stalls and stands and plenty of long communal tables.

And though choices are limited, there are a few Halal options to consider including the popular JUMA Kitchen run by head chef Philip Juma, who has done so much to bring Iraqi cuisine to the fore.

For traditional Jamaican dishes and especially for those who enjoy “the spicy-sweet taste of tender charcoal grilled and smoked jerk cooking”, it has to be Rudie’s Jerk Shack.

They’ve confirmed that “all dishes are Halal” with “no alcohol or pork” on their menu.

Having operated in Borough Market before, as well as the Southbank Centre Market in Kingston, Horn Ok Please is a stand that offers Indian veggie and Halal food.

In addition, there’s the Indian stall Gujarati Rasoi which only serves up veggie and vegan dishes that includes an impressive-looking thali box you might want to consider.

You might also want to note: 1) Borough Market is in the Congestion Charge zone; 2) the Market no longer has customer parking, though there are numerous alternative car parks within a short walking distance.
