BurgerBey Burgers Ickenham Restaurant LondonBurgerBey was opened by two brothers around 6 months ago, and with over 100 reviews, already boasts a 4.9/5 rating on Google, making it a place we just had to visit as a family.

While the standard around these parts is the well known Red Iron burger restaurant, the owners revealed that some of their customers have told them they only come to BurgerBey now.

Since the area of Ickenham doesn’t really exude many quality or alternative restaurants, this place is really needed, and maybe the reason why it’s so highly rated by the locals.

Bey’s Chilli – Beef patty, beef bacon, pepperjack cheese, lettuce, jalapenos, fried onions, hot sauce, £7.50

We tried a variety of burgers and some starters. I went for the Nachos Burger, which made for a pretty picture drowned as it was in a lot of cheese, which I like.

But maybe to enjoy the meat, it’s better to keep it simple. So chips and burgers next time; I would probably keep things simple to enjoy the quality.

The Blue Bey – Beef patty, beef bacon, blue cheese, lettuce, fried onion, gherkin, £7.00

All in all, I found most of the items average. The chicken wings are chicken wings (bit soggy); onion rings the same; the shakes are a blend of chocolate bar with icecream and milk… again!

They haven’t tried to be different here; it’s what every place nowadays seems to have.

Bey’s Original – Beef patty, lettuce, red onions, tomato, gherkin, American cheese, special bey sauce, £6.00

What did stick out were the chips, which seemed double-fried and thick cut – very tasty. Also the burger didn’t entirely have anything original going for it, with a normal bun and salad.

The meat was better than average though, with a good texture and quality meat.

Giant Onion Rings – Served with sour cream or blue cheese sauce, £4.50; Wings (Buffalo) – Spring onions, choice between blue cheese sauce or sour cream, £5.00; Cheesy Beef Bacon Fries – Cheese sauce, paprika, beef bacon, £4.50

The venue was standard and the service was good. The brothers come from a legacy of Turkish kebab shops in the Ealing area, so they know their suppliers.

BurgerBey Burgers Ickenham Restaurant LondonAlthough a worthy visit, it didn’t stick out (for that, I have to go to Two Buns still; or abroad to the likes of Shake Shack in Dubai or, dare I say, a good old Big Mac). Think I am going off topic now.

So check it out if you are in the general vicinity, it’s a good burger option. I do also like the idea of their burger breakfast, with a burger patty and egg and chips. Don’t think I will ever find the opportunity to try it myself though.
