50% off The Meating Room in Manchester for Yemen fundraiser
“Eat so they can eat” is the slogan of a fundraiser this week that is looking to raise awareness for the needy in Yemen, a nation that “is on the brink of famine”.
The Meating Room in Manchester are slashing 50% off their entire menu for one day only with proceeds going to charity group People’s Foundation.
Located on Stockport Road, the burger restaurant will be raising money on Wednesday from 4pm with the hope of also highlighting “the worst humanitarian crisis of our time”.
Owner Muhammad told FtLion: “We must raise awareness now to protect the Yemeni people. Having a more ‘hands on approach’ allows us to reach our goals but additionally raising awareness in our own locality.”
With millions having been displaced from the war-stricken country, Muhammaed added: “Families have been torn apart and left without even the most basic of living essentials.”
The owner is calling on both locals and those further afield to come down for collections or to put in an order for delivery to “make this fundraiser a success”.
Muhammad said that The Meating Room was again working with People’s Foundation knowing “how active the charity has been throughout the last couple of years”.
With a maximum delivery radius of 4-miles, the 50% discount will only be applied on delivery orders over £15 after the discount is applied.
The Meating Room has confirmed that “all government guidelines have been implemented in regards to social distancing”.
