Jollibee opens 1st UK Halal restaurant tomorrow in Leicester

International chicken franchise Jollibee will be launching its first UK Halal restaurant tomorrow in Leicester and its third overall.
“The home of Asia’s favourite fried chicken” and Philippines’ largest fast-food chain will be primely located within the city centre’s pedestrianised area on Humberstone Gate.
Launching at 10am, this 134-cover store will be “following strict government COVID safety guidelines” and will open for takeaway with dine-in following when lockdown rules are lifted.
As part of “Jollibee’s ambitions to meet the needs of local audiences in each of its stores”, this restaurant will be catering for a fully Halal food menu with a no-alcohol policy.
Founded in the Philippines in 1978 and said to have “a cult following amongst the Filipino diaspora”, Jollibee will be offering unique food combos including crispy fried chicken with a side of sweet spaghetti.
While there’s also chicken burgers, hot dogs, fries, and desserts as part of their diverse menu range, Leicester customers will be able to try their latest items: Tropical Chicken Burger, Asian Slaw, Mango Coconut Sundae, and Asian Chicken Tender Rice Bowl.

When we decided on Leicester, we understood that to be part of this multi-cultural city, we had to adapt our supply chain to ensure we can offer all of our Jollibee favourites as Halal.
