Middle Eastern inspired Jeru opening in Mayfair today
HALAL STATUS Fully Halal food menu • Alcohol servedA Middle Eastern inspired venue called Jeru is launching today and the good news is that they’ve told FtLion: “Yes, we are 100% Halal”.
Jeru, which means ‘old city’ in Byzantine time, says it is “a true melting pot” of cultures with award-winning Israel-born Australian chef and owner Roy Ner having roots in North Africa.
While alcohol will be served on the premises, the site will also boast a bakery (open from late January 2022) and has an open charcoal kitchen.
Some of their menu highlights will include: Charcoal octopus, cuttlefish ragu, black spinach, chilli; Langoustine Murtabak, labneh, chilli, smoked eel salsa; and Charcoal roast aubergine, macadamia milk, dry aged smoked lamb.
“Working with the finest charcuterie experts in the UK”, Jeru says it will have items never seen before in the UK including the first lamb bacon in collaboration with Hammond Charcuterie.
