Had a bad experience with Slice of Meat. Ordered the £80 platter. Got home and discovered they hadn’t given a couple of items – we were left with a lot of meat but no sides (rice and chips) and tacos. Tried to get through but as it was Iftar time no one was picking up. When I did get through after nearly 2 hours, the proprietor apologised but did not offer a part refund. Instead he said the missing items didn’t really amount to much: the sides were about £5 and the tacos were very cheap – not exactly a resounding endorsement of your own food!!!
19 Apr '22I was loathe to do this but I am not particularly wealthy and £80 is a lot of money where I come from but the bottom line is the principle. The proprietor said he’d sort me out the “next time” but after this I doubt there’d be a next time. Disappointed he didn’t phone when they discovered they hadn’t given me the items as I would’ve turned the car around. This incident took place on Saturday and I’ve calmed down to gather my thoughts. Also we don’t go to restaurants and tell the staff to “hurry up” and we certainly don’t intimidate, we just sit courteously, politely wait for the food in a civil manner.
I reiterate that I didn’t want to do this but what happened was just not right.
