UK’s finest Halal steakhouse Ribeye arrives in Birmingham
SPONSORED CONTENT HALAL STATUS Fully HalalThere’s an undeniable reason why Manchester’s Ribeye won #FtLionAwards ‘Restaurant of the Year’ last year.
And this their latest venture in Birmingham only reinforces how high they’ve set the proverbial bar when it comes to Halal steakhouses in the UK.
What sets this brand apart isn’t just the exceptional quality and extensive range of their steaks, but the aesthetics and locale that encompasses the experience they endeavour to deliver.
While their first is situated in the heart of Manchester’s swanky First Street neighbourhood, this second is ideally located in the fashionable canal-side destination of Brindley Place, with the National Sea Life Centre just around the corner.
If the central square’s natural amphitheatre of curved limestone steps and water fountains doesn’t wow, then walking past the majestic white pillars of the building that houses Ribeye’s restaurant certainly will.
With al fresco dining available for 30 guests under giant patio umbrellas during the summer, Ribeye can comfortably cater for upto 98 diners, which includes a semi-private area towards the back for 32.
The white blossom tree at the centre of this restaurant’s bright and illuminating interior succeeds in creating a magnificent atmosphere that’s completed by the clever use of decorative flowering plants and dramatic archways of lush green foliage.
Ribeye’s award-winning menu far more than just steaks
Ribeye have included a number of exciting new menu items since FtLion’s review of their Manchester site last year, which was rated a perfect 5/5.
Before lavishing praise upon the steaks, a word on their incredible menu first which has been meticulously designed to offer diners an eclectic mix of innovative dishes and mocktails.
Finding it difficult to choose a starter (and who could blame you)? The Chef’s Platter is the answer, with the hugely popular beef ribs, plump chicken wings, crispy battered prawns smothered in dynamite sauce, bocconcini mozzarella balls, and a pair of lamb chops served with dippings.
But if there was one starter that stands out for its ingenuity alone, then it’s the Firecracker Chicken “Bang Bang”, with a uniquely compelling coca cola-based marination whose vinegary-sweet hit is offset by the hint of spice.
Of course, all food connoisseurs know the importance of pairing food with a complementary beverage to help bring out the best in the pair.
And this is where Ribeye excel as a concept, with not just a full Halal dry bar, but a comprehensive selection of drinks that have each been designed to help complement certain sections of the menu.
As for Ribeye’s award-winning steaks, then there’s a reason why the menu highlights their Creekstone, with three cuts to choose from: 9oz of fillet for £43, as well as 10oz ribeye and sirloin for £36 each.
You can understand why this is “served in only the finest eating establishments around the globe”, with cows fed a 100% corn diet for 140 days, before going through the process of being wet-aged to produce some of the most irresistible Halal beef anywhere.
For those after the Rolls Royce of beef, then Ribeye have also procured the highest quality of Halal Wagyu currently available in the UK, with cows that are corn fed for 300-400 days in order to ensure grade 8+ marbling of the highest quality.
With 8oz of fillet for £90 and a 9oz ribeye for £80, the end result is a buttery-soft texture that’s guaranteed to take you on a culinary voyage, enthral the palate, while changing your perception of beef forever.
Having said all that, however, there’s a reason why the Aberdeen Angus is such a hot-seller. Unlike other steakhouses, who suffice with 28 days, Ribeye’s delectable range are all dry-aged for 35 days to stand out from the crowd.
In addition to fillet, tbone, ribeye, sirloin, and cote de boeuf, there’s also a humongous 32oz tomahawk steak that’s dry-rubbed in a siracha seasoning and served with baby corn and roasted pineapple.
And with 13 side dishes, you’ll be remiss not to pair your steaks with one or two of these, especially the roasted beef bone marrow in chilli and garlic to elevate things to the next level.
Otherwise, their medley of summer seasonal vegetables, which are swiftly tossed in herbs to help retain that crunchy bite, are an ideal foil to all that meaty goodness.
But that’s not all, for Ribeye have a number of mains that are just as tantalising, with new entries like the Pan Fried Breast of Chicken that’s ballotined with a cheesy garlic filling, and covered in an addictively rich and creamy tomato and basil sauce.
Another new addition to the menu that speaks of premium quality is the wild salmon.
The trick here is to pour the herbaceous buttery sauce collected at the bottom of the closed bag this fish has been steamed in all over the bed of root vegetables.
But it’s the best-selling Baked Cannon of Lamb that will have you looking at lamb in an entirely new way, with slices of pink meat arranged atop a silky smooth potato mash and topped with sweet caramelised shallots, before being finished with a deeply-flavoured jus.
It doesn’t end there, since the same thought and reflection continues through to their desserts, with plenty of choices to consider, including the indulgent Paris Brest, Trio Chocolate, and the Pear Delice – each one as good as the next.
If pictures could speak for themselves, they’d tell you exactly why this award-winning steakhouse is making the big waves that it is.
With nothing having been left to chance, and all angles being covered and accounted for, the result is the UK’s finest fully Halal steakhouse, which doesn’t need to be so much as tried, as it does experienced.
