Popeyes launch wedding catering service & confirm Manchester site

Having secured £50m of funding to grow its restaurant portfolio across the UK, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen has also started a wedding catering service across the UK.

Catering for Halal chicken, the US fried chicken brand is taking bookings for its catering service until the end of 2024 via its website.

With the wedding location required to be within a 30-minute drive of a Popeyes restaurant or delivery kitchen, the order is limited to 150 chicken sandwiches and 150 hot wings.

Popeyes has confirmed with FtLion: “This service will be created specially for [such] circumstances. Our chicken is Halal and we have strict procedures in place to avoid cross-contamination between the breakfast pork products and our main chicken offer.”

After securing the additional £50m funding from private equity firm TDR Capital for its restaurant programme, Popeyes said it will be opening its first site in Manchester later this year.

Situated in the city’s Piccadilly Gardens, the new site will mark the brand’s 15th opening in 2023 and its 32nd since debuting in the UK in 2021.
