HALAL STATUS Fully Halal food menu • Alcohol servedAn Afro-fusion food concept has opened a lounge at an iconic site in south east London that’s dedicated to promoting authentic African cultural experiences.
Cally Munchy has acquired a restaurant space in The Africa Centre on Great Suffolk Street with Head Chef Ebenezer Sogunro offering a fully Halal food menu made up of African fusion flavours.
“We are so excited for you all to finally have a Cally Lounge experience, and to experience the fusion flavours our Head Chef @mrcally_ has put together,” Cally Munchy announced on Instagram.
Founded in 1964, The Africa Centre was originally in Covent Garden where it held art exhibitions, conferences and cultural events.
It was later forced to close in 2013, but relocating to this newly refurbished headquarter last year in Southwark where it “celebrates the diversity of Africa and its diaspora”.
