Boxer Amir Khan launches Heavenly Chef meal kit box
Former two-time world boxing champion Amir Khan and his wife Faryal Makhdoom have announced the launch of a new food business venture.
The multi-millionnaire couple announced in a video posted on Instagram: “At the start of the year, me and Faryal were thinking that cooking food is getting very expensive and there’s so much wastage.”
Despite acknowledging that a number of companies were attempting to tackle such issues, “these brands don’t offer Halal meat, which means that we can’t use their services”, Faryal clarified.
Seeing “a massive gap in the market”, the pair “decided to create Heavenly Chef“, which they claimed is “the UK’s first Halal Meal kit recipe”, although that distinction belongs to It’s Halal which was launched by Saima Duhare in 2019.
With over 75 recipes available on their website, Britain’s youngest boxing Olympic medalist ensures that they are “all nutritionally balanced and all supplied with lean cuts of Halal meat”.
With “20% off your first order using coupon code: AKFM20”, Faryal added: “For every box purchased, we will be dontaing a portion to those affected in Palestine.”
