Brothers open Punjab Grill in Southend-on-Sea
HALAL STATUS Fully HalalTwo brothers have filled a gap in Southend’s restaurant scene by opening family-run Punjab Grill.
Located on London Road, the new establishment has plenty of indoor seating and offers a “traditional Punjabi dining experience” with emphasis on barista coffee.
Brothers Imran Aslam and Abdul Majid opened the fully Halal restaurant with a range of Punjab mixed grills and karahis, cooked in a special wok, and specials such as haleem and nihari.
“I’m from Pakistan and I’ve been living in the UK for eight years and I realised that when we want people to come down and dine, we have so many takeaways, we have pizza, and we have chicken shops, but we don’t have a proper Asian cuisine – so we used to go to London,” Imran reportedly said.
With “15 years of experience in the coffee business” there’s plenty of coffee varierty to consider, as well as other drinks like the popular mango lassi.
