‘Good quality’ Japanese Sushi Futomaki in London Ruislip

HALAL STATUS Fully Halal food menu • Alcohol servedDrove past this simple looking Japanese restaurant called Sushi Futomaki in Ruislip on the outskirts of west London, which has a 4.8-rating on Google.
Rang them up and was told that they offer Halal chicken and beef; so we took another ride down and tried a handful of things.
From the starters there were prawn tempura, which was nicely battered, and chicken karaage, that had a good crispy outer coating.
There was also a sushi platter with a variety of salmon and tuna presented in an elaborate wooden boat which we found to be somewhat novel.
As for the chicken katsu then this was plentiful with a decently flavourful curry, while the beef teriyaki was an enjoyable munch.
To be clear, although all the food we had was of a good quality, it was pricey for the area. So I am not sure if I would go regularly (I may choose Hare and Tortoise in Ealing over this next time). But I can understand the high Google rating.
I wasn’t sure about the alcohol content (Ed. NB – the restaurant confirmed that alcohol is not used as an ingredient), but when it comes to teriyaki, I follow the rule that its all cooked out. I couldn’t taste or smell anything dodgy in it though.
This small, high street in Ruislip is becoming good for restaurants too, with a very busy Sarasas Indian restaurant here and a German Doner Kebab, as well as many other styles of restaurants.
We later went down the road and found the ice cream shop Dolce Vita; so went in for a scoop. Although the ice cream wasn’t amazing, I did like the variety of places to eat at here; so be sure to check it out.
