Pizza Hut add three more Halal stores despite ‘boycott’
Having rolled out a dozen fully Halal kitchens across the UK last year in July, Pizza Hut has added another three to the list.
The international franchise has converted a further two sites in London and one in Bradford to Halal.
While these venues “will not handle any pork ingredients”, Pizza Hut adds: “All pork items have been substituted with beef, turkey, or chicken alternative[s]. … Our meat suppliers are Halal certified; their Halal certificates are available upon request.”
Despite having converted to Halal in response to “changing consumer demand”, the brand itself has been part of an ongoing boycott by pro-Palestinian supporters for having reportedly posted an Instagram story of its pizza boxes being handed to Israeli soldiers.
