Afrikana debut in Scotland with site in Glasgow

Afrikana launched its 14th UK site and first in Scotland in the city of Glasgow this week with plans of opening in the capital too.
Situated in Sauchiehall Street, the brand has another eight sites in the pipeline with the next apparently being in Coventry, according to their website.
Afrikana said on social media: “The Grand Opening of Afrikana Glasgow in Scotland was a tremendous success. You welcomed us with open arms and empty stomachs, and we hope we were able to satisfy all of your Afrikana desires.”
Beginning its journey in the small village of Aldridge back in 2018, Afrikana offer homecooked African-inspired dishes that include an assortment of burgers, wraps, chickens and specials, with sharing platters inspired by food from Kenya, Botswana, and Ethiopia.
Afrikana has also informed FtLion: “We are a fully certified Halal place; all our meals are Halal,” before adding: “None of our stores serve alcohol.”
With sites planned in London’s Hayes, Hounslow, and Ilford, other locations include Leeds, Sheffield, Southampton, and Wolverhampton.
