Asma Khan announces Darjeeling Express return to ‘spiritual home’
Award-winning Chef Asma Khan has revealed the new location for her all female-led restaurant Darjeeling Express.
Having announced earlier this that her Covent Garden venue in London would me closing, the Indian Chef has today confirmed a move back to Soho’s Kingly Court where it all began for her.
Describing the relocation as a return to her “spiritual home”, Asma has added that the new premises, whose opening date is yet to be revealed, will be larger than her first.
“We are returning to our spiritual home- and in a bigger space! This was where we began our journey five years ago – an #AllFemaleKitchen serving the food of our families.
“It is a joyous #Homecoming! Details of opening date and how to make reservations will follow soon,” she revealed across her social accounts.
Asma began her journey in the food sector as a supper club enthusiast before launching Darjeeling Express four years later in 2017.
While she was forced to move in 2020, an announcement soon followed of its relocation the same year to a huge 120-cover site in Covent Garden where it operated until March 2022.
