Asta Luego’s – Wembley
THIS RESTAURANT HAS NOW CLOSED DOWN!
The following is a re-review of Asta Luego’s:
North Wembley joined the current trend of Halal burger joints popping up across the capital with Asta Luego’s.
But don’t be fooled by the relatively smart shop front, this place seems as rundown as the area it’s located in. Not only does it have limited seating, but tables and seats so filthy that you’d think they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks!
In fact, our phone had to be peeled off the table after it literally got stuck to it. Disgraceful!
The chicken burger was good with a soft bun.
The chicken had flavour, but at £7.50 seems a bit hefty.
The Cheese Burger, however, could be better. It’s supposed to be Monterey Jack, but tastes more like Tesco’s own brand from across the road!
At £8.50, definitely one to avoid.
Asta Luago’s Signature Burger with fries £9.50
What did go a long way towards assuaging our hygiene concerns was the Signature Burger. It was very good! The meat was well done, though bordering on the dry, while the smokey rasher was soft and flavoursome with, thankfully, a smoky taste. But two things ultimately let this burger down from truly being top notch. The first was the sauce, which, as we all know, can make or break a burger. In this case, the sweet chili simply lacked any real punch. The second was, again, the mediocre cheese. For a premium priced burger, we expect more.
Overall, however, this was an almost, let down only by one or two easily rectifiable elements.
Note that although all burgers come with crispy fries, these were nevertheless your average, mass produced-type fries served at any and all other fast food chicken shops.
A large portion from the kids menu, yes, and tasty, yes, but alas the chicken was dry.
Please note that they also served us recycled plastic straws!
No kidding! And don’t expect a reply if you do end up complaining about something, as we did, via email.
In the end, the most memorable part of our visit to Asta Luego’s was being confronted by this ominous elephant-shaped cloud formation we witnessed when leaving.
Thank goodness we, as Muslims, don’t believe in omens – good or bad.
- NO/ NO
- BABY SEATS
Our sincere advice: head off down the road to Handmade Burger Co. where, for the same price, you'll be served superior burgers, fries, drinks, and desserts - all in a very clean, non-sticky environment!

Despite the negative intro, that is a handsome burger (the signature one), masha’Allah!

I agree, had the exact same experience this weekend. Was told that they didn’t have any soft drinks either as the machine had broken. When asked to cover the table with a white sheet they responded saying they didn’t have any left despite having some on the empty desk. Appalling service, it’s a shame the burgers are actually half decent

Really good burgers and excellent service. Much improved decor and setting since the recent refurb. Seems like they took the negative comments on board and acting on them. There’s a lot to be said from that. . .
