Aziziye (Turkish) – Stoke Newington
100% Halal and uniquely situated in the basement of a mosque, this well known restaurant serves kebabs, Turkish pizza, and an assortment of traditional starters.
Though the Turkish themed interior decor requires a lick of paint, it’s nevertheless very inviting.
But what makes this place stand out is that not only is it very reasonably priced compared to similar rival restaurants in upmarket places like Edgware Road, but it offers a number of family booths that are absolutely ideal for those who seek that extra bit of privacy.
Since you’re given the standard complementary bread, it makes sense to order something on the side, such as, hummus.
Now, this (don’t ask us to pronounce it with out mouths full) was fantastic, with the garlic yoghurt complimenting the dish really well.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Lamb was good, but lacked flavour in our opinion (that’s Arab food for you folks!).
The Turkish pizza (apologies for the blurry pic) was pretty good actually.
It won’t blow your mind; but given the price and the crispy thin base, well worth trying (wouldn’t exactly call it a pizza though; more a flat bread with mince on top).

KARISIK IZGARA – Mixed kebab, consisting of adana, shish, chicken & lamb chops served with rice & salad
Unfortunately, the mixed grill was dry and tasteless (similar to Kervan Sofrasi or Abu Zaad)! The lamb chops were very rubbery and difficult to tear off.
