Bando Belly brings food fusion to London Peckham today
HALAL STATUS Halal options (no cross-contamination) • Bacon servedInspired by the capital’s multiculturalism, Bando Belly will be introducing London’s very own soul food “with a twist” today when it launches in south London.
Founded by London-based entrepreneurs Naz Ramadan and Alex Situnayake, Bando Belly will be launching at the cultural and social hub Peckham Levels at noon.
The new business has informed FtLion that although “all our meat is Halal”, bacon is served “as an additional extra – this is cooked away from everything else”.
With the Peckham Levels currently closed, orders can be arranged for collection by messaging them via their Instagram or website.
“At Bando Belly, we are taking that exact energy and putting it on a plate with a menu that highlights a diverse selection of flavours from all around the globe to reimagine London’s soul food,” head chef and co-founder Naz reportedly said.
“Inspired by America, the Caribbean, South East Asia and most importantly – London with its rich and diverse food heritage”, their menu include Korean style fried chicken burgers, honey lamb ribs, Trinidadian inspired tacos and their “already famous” deep fried oreos.
Bando Belly are also doing a £5 lunch time deal during the weekeday between 12pm and 2pm with delivery available through Deliveroo.
