Beef Belly’s 10oz budget beef burger
By Aku Fu
Beef Belly is a fast food chicken and burger joint – both fried chicken and peri-peri – that’s better than your average chicken shop.
Take a look at the menu. The first thing you might notice is the option of ordering a 10oz patty, which is the one to go for if you like a meaty burger (£8.49).
Close by is the famous Red Iron. Now, I am not comparing the two, but if you’re on a budget and not wanting to sit down, this is probably the second best burger around for a takeaway place.
Also worth a mention is the fried chicken. Having tried the wings and strips, the tasty spicy batter gives these that slight edge over those by the more well known Chicken Cottage and Favourite Fried Chicken that are close by.
Having tried the Special Burger – which has been pretty good, the Nachos Burger, and the Spicy Burger – that’s overloaded with ingredients that don’t really add much with the spicy mango sauce not being as good as it sounds, all in all, it does beat your average kebab shop equivalent.
The only issue I do have is consistency as they have on occasions over grilled their burgers.
