Boring Bog Standard Burgers Galore

Where are the ground breaking, earth shattering halal burgers?

Came across an article yesterday on the Nerdist website (says a lot about us, huh!) which kicked off the argument over how imaginative, or unimaginative as the case may be, most of the halal burgers going about town really are.

Putting aside the fact that the article titled ‘And Now, a Bacon Burger Stuffed with Peanut Butter Cups’ wasn’t aimed at the halal carnivores, what got us talking was the sheer audacity and creativity.

Even if we were to ignore the notion that peanut butter was being used as an ingredient for a burger, who could seriously ignore the idea created by Works Gourmet Burger Bistro of a burger STUFFED with PEANUT BUTTER?

It’s bold; it’s daring; it’s what most burger-makers in the halal market would find difficult to dream of, let alone conceive and execute.

How many could, for instance, dream up… drum roll, a Pumpkin Cinnamon Spice Donut Fried Chicken Burger!

We need to spark our creative juices and start producing some truly ground breaking burgers. God knows we have a large enough ethnic pot, ranging from Muslims residing in the Land of the Rising Sun, Central Asia, the Middle East, and across the African continent, to create some truly unique flavours.

We need to stop being content with mediocrity, move beyond Monterey Jack cheese and avocado sauce, and spark those imaginations of ours.
