With seating available for 30 outside, they are committed to their trade, with produce bought daily from the UK’s largest wholesale meat market, Smithfield’s; and their beef regularly smoked in specialist smokers to ensure freshness of quality.

As such, when you tuck into their pastrami or ribs, you know that the former has just been smoked for a solid 12-hours, and the latter for at least five to ensure that smoky-umaminess.

With cleanliness accounted for with a perfect hygiene-rating of five, a quick glance at their refined menu proves just how unique the experience is that they’re endeavouring to deliver.

Distinguished by their ‘Specials’, Bun & Sum’s menu is essentially made up of burgers and sides, defined, of course, by their incredible smoked meats.

The Pastrami Burger (below) from their trio of Specials is a no-brainer, with two exquisitely caramelised beef patties topped with umami-rich layers of the most wonderous smoked pastrami slices you’ll ever have.

Smothered in their house fry sauce, American cheese, lettuce and onions, there’s a reason why this is one of Bun & Sum’s most popular burgers.

Alongside that, you’ll be remiss not to consider pairing this with one of their fries as a side, simply because they have gone that extra American-mile to cook theirs in beef fat rendered by themselves (100% no additives or preservatives).

Or you could try Bun & Sum’s novel Smashed Potatoes with addictively crispy potatoes, smashed in garlic and plenty of rosemary and thyme, before being tossed in their house cajun seasoning to give it that extra dimension.

If you’re looking for something Special from the sides, then it has to be the Shticky Ribs, which at just £11 for two huge slabs of on-the-bone smoked ribs is just insane.

In fact, Bun & Sum have a variety of unique options, like the Big Rib being their take on the McDonald’s McRib, or the Motz that’s named after the famous American foodie George Motz, and the new Mexican-inspired Green Chilli whose jalapenos are sourced from a farm in Portsmouth.

But here’s the big thing, these guys are so dedicated to being the best that they constantly keep their Specials rotating throughout the year with new options.

Not only will they soon be launching what’s known as Onions Strings, but two burgers are currently in the pipelines.

The first is the Martys Combo, which takes its inspiration from a burger joint in LA close to the Dodger stadium with hot dogs being incorporated in some funky way; and the Wisconsin or Greenbay Butter Burger, as the name suggests, will include plenty of soft butter.
