Butta Burger confirm Halal at first restaurant in Edinburgh

Emerging takeaway Butta Burger in Edinburgh has launched its first restaurant having taken over a site formerly housed by Gourmet Burger Kitchen.
Located on George Street, the brand has acquired quite the reputation having moved from operating out of a kitchen to a permanent site.
The burger specialists have become known for using Butta seasoning and producing outstanding dry-aged beef and chicken burgers.
Sadly, while their 35+ days dry aged beef is not Halal, their chicken breast meat, which is left to marinate for 24 hours in special ‘Buttamilk’, certainly is.
Butta have confirmed with FtLion: “All of our chicken burgers and chicken fingers are Halal. We use separate knives/ boards/ areas and storage for the Halal meat and also cook it in separate oil.”
And they have plenty of chicken choices too with half-a-dozen burgers (note: their signature has bacon) and sides of Chicken Fingers and Kiev Chicken Fingers.
Currently offering collections and deliveries via Deliveroo, the new restaurant will be opening for sit-in bookings once lockdown restrictions ease across Scotland from the end of April.
With Butta’s menu having been created by head chef, Chris O’Connor, who’s spent 5-years at The Balmoral’s ‘Number One’, the owners have said they have “major plans” for weekend brunches too.
