Free donuts & tea today at Cha Cha Chai debut in Blackburn
HALAL STATUS Fully HalalA Bradford-based brand that specialises in South Asian tea will be launching its first restaurant in Blackburn today.
Not to be confused with either ChaCha Chai Wala in London or Cha Chai also located in Blackburn, Cha Cha Chai will be opening not too far down on Darwen Street.
With free tea and donuts available from 4pm, this place serves up Dud Pathi (milk leaf tea), Saffron Chai, and Karak Chai, along with plenty of snacks and desserts.
With a number of branches dotted around Bradford as well as in Leeds, Cha Cha Chai claims to be looking to open in Batley, Manchester, Birmingham, Nelson, Sheffield, Burnley, Oldham, and Rochdale.
According to their website: “Our teas are ethically sourced from green tea Merchants who are committed to ethical standards and paying their farmers an excellent price. We source, blend and brew the teas ourselves.”
Over the past few years, the UK’s Halal tea scene hasn’t just taken off, but gone crazy (read more here: Let the chaii wala chai wars begin), with variations on the terms ‘chai’ and ‘chaii’ being strategically used for branding purposes.
