Chai Naasto’s Indian Street Food Hits Hammersmith

After its success in Kent’s Beckenham, Chai Naasto will be opening the doors to its second branch tomorrow as they bring the streets of India to the streets of Hammersmith in West London.

Having been voted the Winner for Open Table’s 2016 Diner’s Choice in its first year of opening, this popular, young and vibrant restaurant’s menu brings you the authentic flavours of the streets of India.

With a 5-star hygiene rating at their Beckenham branch, Chai Naasto constantly strives to adapt and evolve by offering what it call a “gastronomic adventure throughout India”. To this end, diners are asked to pick 2-3 “chaat street” or “kebab gully” naasto plates, stacked up with a couple of “punjab” or “nanima’s curries”, and topped off with a few extras. With the restaurant’s voyages changing every 2-3 months, it’s important to check in from time to time to see what’s new.

Conveniently situated just a five minutes walk away from Hammersmith tube station, this new place replicates the interior decor of the first’s, with a large Bollywood-inspired wall mural, along with all the vibrant colours that quintessentially define that part of the world. As such, Chai Naasto promises to tantalise taste buds with offerings that include:

Punjab’s Meat Belli Ram – lamb stew originally created by the undisputed master of Punjabi cuisine – Chef Belli Ram.
Nanima’s Ghosht Nu Shaak – A family recipe passed down from Nani; lamb curry on the bone cooked in our house-blended spices & fresh herbs.
Nargisi Quail Egg Koftas – Spicy lamb mince wrapped around quail eggs: crumbed, fried & served with our smoked tomato chutney.
Khan Chacha’s Seekh Paratha – Lamb seekh kebab served on paratha (flat bread) with mint chutney & pickled red onion (can be served without the paratha for
a gluten-free option).

While alcohol is served on the premises, Chai Naasto has a selection of what it calls “Sin Free Cocktails”, Better Than Booze – lychee & watermelon juices, lemon, fresh cucumber & ginger; Bollywood Reviver – passion fruit, mango & guava juices, mint, coconut syrup, lime & sod; as well as in-house made Mango or Rose & Cardamom lassies.
