Chaiiwala 1st drive-thru in Bolton revolutionises UK chai concept

The UK’s leading Indian street food cafe Chaiiwala has upped the ante for the UK’s Halal chai sector with the opening of its very first drive-thru.
In partnership with leading independent convenience retailer EG Group, the ‘Indian Starbucks’ has taken over the Londis petrol station on Manchester Road to launch an epic restaurant.
“This new concept has been years in the making and we’re very proud of this incredible project in partnership with @eg.groupltd,” the award-winning brand announced on its social accounts.
Given how competitive the chai sector is in this country (see: Let the chaii wala chai wars begin for more detail), this places Chaiiwala head and shoulders above its nearest rivals.
With this being their 68th UK site and 73rd worldwide, the franchise continues to push the pot out there with cafes in Canada’s Ontario and Abbotsford.
Having been voted #FtLion Awards Readers’ Choice: Best Beverage of the Year in 2019, they are known for their brewed teas and coffees, as well as Indian street food snacks including rotis, masala chips, Bombay sandwiches, and a hearty Indian breakfast with a “special” masala omelette.
