Hajat savours Indian street chai at Chapatea in Leicester
By Yunus Hajat (@hajats_reviews)
HALAL STATUS Fully HalalBeen wanting to check out Chapatea for a while now, and I’m glad I did.
Walking in, my eyes opened up wide in adoration of the decor. With a capacity for 20 customers, it’s great.
Now moving on to the food, I ordered Pani Puri which tasted divine. As I put it in my mouth, I got the sweet taste of the pomegranate followed by an unexpected kick at the back of the throat thanks to the tamarind spiced water.
I also ordered Masala Chips too garnished with coriander and green chillies, which were very well seasoned and tasted great.
And finally the Bombay Sandwiches made up of three layers of soft white bread filled with potato, tomato, beetroot, cucumber, onion, cheese, and green chutney – proper Indian street food is what I had folks!
To down it all I had the Karak Chai (£1.50), which tasted great too and stayed hot till the end.
In the end, great customer service was given by @abubakar_official. Note, however, that Chapatea currently accept cash payments only.
