Cheeky Buns cafe opens in London Whitechapel

HALAL STATUS Fully Halal (except the salt beef)

Cheeky Buns cafe has opened in East London’s Whitechapel with a menu that revolves around healthy, freshly made food.

Situated near East London Mosque on Fieldgate Street , this all-day breakfast and brunch place has confirmed with us that the only menu item not Halal is the “salt beef bagel”.

And while they’re “hoping [this] will only be for a very short time”, the rest of “all meat and chicken will be cooked and prepared separately to avoid any cross-contamination”.

In any case, Cheeky Buns offers fresh bagels served daily, such as Tuna Mayonnaise and Salmon and Cream Cheese, desserts, crepes, waffles, milkshakes, sandwiches, wraps, soups, and an assortment of beverages.

In addition to serving fresh bread, management has said: “If there is a high demand for gluten free bread, [then] yes we will cater to our customers.”

Otherwise, they have a salad station that offers a selection for anyone seeking after a healthy lunchbox.
