Dapur launches in Berjaya Eden Park London Hotel
HALAL STATUS Fully HalalAfter their humble beginnings in Holborn five years ago, Dapur have gone upmarket and opened a second venue in Bayswater.
Having impressed us with their hearty, home-style cooking last year (read our full review), they will now be offering their Malaysian cuisine at Berjaya Eden Park London Hotel.
While this 60-cover restaurant continues to serve the same classic dishes available at its sister takeaway eatery, this time it’s far more smartly presented given the location.
The hotel itself is actually part of the international Malaysian brand Berjaya Hotels & Resorts, and currently enjoys an above average 3/5 rating on Tripadvisor.
My favourite Malaysian restaurant in the UK is Dapur in Holborn – MasterChef’s Zaleha Kadir Olpin
With the restaurant opening early at 7am and closing into the late hours of the day, the team at Dapur, led by talented Sharizah Hashim, have introduced a breakfast menu alongside their lunch and dinner offerings.
Sharizah said on Dapur’s Facebook page: “As ever, we will stay true to our roots of serving authentic Malaysian cuisines.
“We will be open from breakfast until dinner, 7 days a week. To my customers who have been requesting for dinners and weekend openings, this is for you lot!”
And BBC MasterChef contestant, Zaleha Kadir Olpin, who was at the heart of the international “Rendang Gate” controversy last year, rates Dapur very highly.
In fact, she revealed to us in an interview: “My favourite Malaysian restaurant in the UK is Dapur in Holborn. They serve delicious authentic Malaysian food in a Malaysian tiffin that’s perfectly seasoned and full of flavour.”
