Deliveroo Awards 2020 picks five Halal restaurant winners
A number of Halal-friendly restaurant brands have been recognised for their delivery service in this year’s Deliveroo Awards.
Of the 18 awards dished out by the popular delivery company, five have been bagged by restaurants catering for Halal across London and beyond.
The biggest winner was Archie’s who won two with Banana Tree, Dishoom, Patty & Bun, and Kaspa’s Desserts also achieving success.
While Panda’s Kitchen won the inaugural Halal category award last year, this year it was Archie’s turn who were also chosen for Best Cheap Eats award.
With Banana Tree awarded Best Eco-Friendly Restaurant, Patty & Bun was recognised for serving the Best Burger, and Kaspa’s Desserts Best Dessert-Only Restaurant.
Dishoom won Best Newcomer with co-founder Kavi stating: “We were really really heartbroken to have to shut our restaurants, working with Deliveroo seemed like the absolute obvious next step, so we could bring those delicious recipes that people loved eating in our restaurants to their homes.
“Working with Deliveroo over the past few months has actually meant we’ve been able to grow our business; which has allowed us to create jobs, hire new people, as well as have fantastic
career opportunities for our existing team.”
This year’s Deliveroo Awards was judged and hosted by Maya Jama, Riyadh Khalaf, Vogue Williams and Will Shu.
