Dishoom grand opening in London Canary Wharf today
HALAL STATUS Fully Halal food menu (12pm onwards) • Alcohol servedFollowing a generous 50% off soft opening period, Dishoom have officially launched their ninth site in London’s Canary Wharf.
As with most Dishoom venues, this one on Water Street is a humongous one with two floors that can accommodate upto 350 diners.
Although the place does house a sizeable standalone bar, there does appear to be plenty of seating available in separate areas that includes a terrace overlooking the dock.
Dishoom have clarified on their Twitter account that they can only offer a fully Halal food menu from noon onwards: “All meat is halal (though we have pork on the menu for breakfast, but we change all cooking equipment and utensils at 12pm).”
On their website they add: “Our all-day menu is Halal, with our lamb and chicken coming from certified suppliers, and the animals are humanely stunned before slaughter.”
As with all Dishoom menus, Canary Wharf’s has been devised by executive chef Naved Nasir, and highlights dishes like the Chef’s Malai Lobster, as well as Dishoom Chicken Tikka, House Black Daal, Roomali Roti, and Pau Bhaji.
